Music Review-Enema of the State Pt. 1
Disclaimer-This album is old as hell. I know. Shut up.
-------------------------Enema of the State, in my humble, worthless opinion is one of the best albums of all time, and may be the best punk-rock album ever. Enema of the State shows the greatness of Blink 182, and steered the course of modern punk in a new direction.

Track-by-Track overview
1) Dumpweed: Blink 182 decided to start this awesome album with a fast moving track. Filled with energy, the track sets the mood for the rest of the album. Dumpweed is a serious ballad delivered in a format fit for immature teenagers. In the song, Mark repeats “I need a girl that I can train.” Get used to this subject. You’re going to hear about teenage romance in the next half hour.
2) Don’t Leave Me: This may well be my least favorite track on this album-which isn’t a bad thing by any means. I just don’t care for the tune/rhythm and the song doesn’t seem to fit the mood of the lyrics. The lyrics tell the story of a guy who’s worried about whether his girlfriend still likes him. Wow…another song about teenage romance...
3) Aliens Exist: This track gets my vote as the most unique track of the album. The content of the track is obvious. Mark sings about how he believes in aliens, but nobody believes him. The tune is good and the song flows nicely (as do most all songs on this album). Aliens Exist is just your typical enema-era blink song in pretty much every aspect.
4) Going Away to College: This song may well be one of my favorites, if not my favorite Blink song. I love this song. The lyrics (I haven’t been this scared in a long time, and I’m so unprepared, so here’s your valentine, a bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody, this worlds an ugly place, but your so beautiful to me) are awesome, and as is rare for Blink, they really capture the emotion behind them. This song integrates the melody and lyrics perfectly; to create an inspirational song that really puts a smile on your face. Going Away to College may be yet another song about teenage ‘love,’ but is done extremely well.
To be continued at a time besides
